Portimão Test • Day 3

Portimão, February 21st 2022: Iván Ortolá & Stefano Nepa have finished three intense days of official tests in the suggestive and characteristic Algarve circuit in Portugal where they have refined the development of their KTM and perfected the attack plan for the first Grand Prix of the season in Qatar next week.

Just the time to get acquainted with the track after the winter break that the two MTA riders have immediately proved to have the right characteristics to fight with the fierce rivals of Moto3; in fact, Ortolá ends the first day placing immediately ninth, half a second from the leader of the standings: the veteran Suzuki. Stefano Nepa, on the other hand, starts a little more slowly and finds himself recovering on the second day, when he takes almost a second to his time and freezes the chronometer at 1’48.8, improved by another second in the last part of sessions available. Meanwhile, Iván Ortolá rolled up his sleeves and chased his fast rivals until he finished his best time at 1’48.3, which allowed him to position himself just behind the very experienced category.

Between precious tips stolen from opponents and a wealth of experience in growth, three profitable days end for the two MTA riders already flying to Qatar, where they will be arranged the last details in preparation for the great and highly waited debut!
