Losail International Circuit
Description
The fabulous Losail International Circuit is located on the outskirts of Doha, the capital of Qatar. Built in just over a year, the track cost $ 58 million and required 24 – on-24 dedication from nearly 1,000 workers to be ready for the inaugural event-Qatar’s Marlboro Grand Prix.
The track itself is a fluid layout surrounded by artificial grass designed to prevent nearby desert sand from blowing onto the circuit. The track is a good mix of medium and high-speed turns, including a couple of fast left turns.
In 2008, permanent outdoor lighting was installed, the switch to the night race was a success and continued to be so, with Qatar now established as one of the most spectacular in the Motogp calendar.
